I’m Debbie Wyatt, Founder of Feather Grey Consulting.

I’ve spent nearly 30 years in recruitment, and I’ve seen a lot - both agency side and in-house. I’ve worked in fast-paced tech SMEs, corporate agencies, and start-ups. I’ve learned that the stakes are always high, but nowhere are they higher than in founder-led businesses.

    I’d love too, really I would. And whilst I’ve worked within different sectors previously, the tech space is my happy place, so I’d have to say no. I can recommend someone though, if you would like?

    You know from above that I’ve sworn allegiance to working with founder led Tech SME’’s often in SaaS, EdTech and E-Learning. Well the folk I find are needed for every function across your business, especially if you want to remain competitive. So, it could be a Finance Assistant or a CFO, a Software Development Manager to a Product Owner, Change and Project Management, Sales and Marketing, Operations and Analytics
  • I've got other agencies working on this too, is that OK?
    Sorry, but that doesn't work for me, or you I am sure. Multiple agencies encourage volume over quality. Not a good use of anyone’s time, I cherry-pick the best, not show you everyone and anyone with a CV.
  • What makes you different from working with a big agency?
    Big agencies focus on volume, they are all about the K-P-I’s. Not me, I focus on precision. I consistently deliver a shortlist of brilliant candidates who will give you hope that you can build out your teams with confidence.
  • How do I know this will work when other avenues haven't?
    Because I don’t rely on generic processes. I use a forensic, incisive approach to find the right person. My track record of 30 years’ experience speaks for itself, my hires deliver, and they stay.
  • How do you ensure cultural fit?
    I start by understanding your values, team dynamics, and the role's impact. Then I look beyond just skills and experience to find someone who’ll not only thrive in your environment but add to it, massively. Call it my superpower if you will, it allows me to notice the things that haven’t been said, but will be important.
  • What if I am hiring for multiple roles?
    This is often the case, and why my clients are still with me from when I first set up Feather Grey Consulting 7 years ago. But, the Critical Hire Sprint is designed to focus on one key hire at a time. So, we firstly determine which role is most critical, by understanding the impact of not having this person in place and I will then find them. From there we agree and hatch a plan to build out your teams, ensuring every hire is the right one.
  • What if we don't find someone in the 30 days?
    It’s rare, but if it were to happen, I’ll continue working with you to find the right hire. The 30-day sprint is built for speed and precision, but my commitment doesn’t stop until the right person is in place.
  • Do we need to agree timelines and dates for interviews?
    Yes. Clear timelines are essential for delivering within the sprint. Your availability and commitment to the process will have a direct impact on securing the right hire in 30 days.
  • Do you have a probation guarantee?
    Yes, the people I place with you are in it for the long haul - they want to grow their careers with you. But on the rare occasion things don’t work out within the first 6 months probation period, we can talk it through to understand why and what needs to be done so you're not at a loss. If your new hire suddenly decides to backpack across South America, I’ll find you a replacement free of charge (and take away their passport - kidding!). If they leave because their role or the business has shifted, that’s trickier, but I’ll work with you to find a solution we’re all happy with. In seven years, I’ve retained every single client. That’s got to count for something.
